Cover-up and rework route

Some tattoos can be covered. Some need fading first.

Cover-ups depend on the old tattoo’s darkness, size, placement, age, and the new design. Start with a consultation so the artist can decide what is realistic and whether laser fading should happen first.

FADE

Better options

Laser can open more design choices before cover-up work.

What decides the route

Cover-up strategy is visual math, not wishful thinking.

Upload clear photos in natural light and describe what you want instead. Heavy black, dense colour, hands, neck, wrists, and scarred areas may need more careful planning.

Direct cover-up

Possible when the new design can structurally absorb the old tattoo.

Laser fade

Useful when the old tattoo blocks the new design too much.

Rework

Sometimes improving the existing piece is better than hiding it.
